Summary

Madison gave her heart to a boy at the age of sixteen, but all she got in return was a broken heart and a swollen belly。

Alone with a baby and desperate for the love she hadn’t found, she turned to a man who sealed his claim of devotion with a diamond ring。

He promised her a family。 A life。 A future。 But his lies had only been a cover for the personal hell he introduced her to daily。

Now, at twenty-five, Madison has long since stopped believing in love。 It’s simply not a square on her bingo card。

Balancing single parenthood, three jobs, and online courses, she doesn’t have the time anyway。

So when the broody neighbor living in the other side of her duplex leaves a rude note on her door, she’s not interested。

Not in his dark hair, not in his physique, and definitely not in the dimples she’s only seen a hint of。 She’s one hundred percent, absolutely, not interested。

Not even a little。

This was seriously one of the cutest books I have ever read。 The characters are developed so well and I was just so impressed by how everything was just so real and unpredictable。 Garrett is perfect for real, but Madison is also so relatable and raw and you just absolutely love her too。 She is also a single mom and her kid just makes the story even better。 Seriously this was incredible, if you like romance books, read this。

Meet Me Halfway is my very first book by Lilian that I have read and it was, overall, amazing。 While the first couple of chapters had some slow moments that my ADHD brain ended up skimming over, the overall feel and love of the book really hit me。 I was glued to my kindle and didn't stop reading it till it was over(midnight bedtime anyone?)。 Madison and Garrett clash until Garrett realized the truth about Madison and he goes from grump neighbor to overprotective neighbor。 You just can't help but Meet Me Halfway is my very first book by Lilian that I have read and it was, overall, amazing。 While the first couple of chapters had some slow moments that my ADHD brain ended up skimming over, the overall feel and love of the book really hit me。 I was glued to my kindle and didn't stop reading it till it was over(midnight bedtime anyone?)。 Madison and Garrett clash until Garrett realized the truth about Madison and he goes from grump neighbor to overprotective neighbor。 You just can't help but fall in love with Garrett along side Madison。 So while the first few chapters might drag on, I highly suggest giving the full book a shot。 You won't regret it。 **this book was given to me for free in exchange for an honest review** 。。。more

It was such a cute story。 Madison is also such a strong women, definitely an amazing mother too! This story showed sides that a lot of stories usually don’t, the questioning, the quite breakdowns and the judgment of a single parent。 I loved how Garrett judgement of Madison changed when he got to know her and how he actually apologized。 He also went to Jamie’s soccer games which was so adorable。 I loved how Jamie is so protective of his mother then Garrett brings up video games and he’s a goner。I definitely recommend this story to other!! 。。。more

Nice but a total copy of ‘Wait for Me’ by Mariana Zapata。 Slight differences only。 The writing style was also much similar sometimes and everything from the personality of heroine how she meets her ‘neighbour’ and neighbour thinks she’s after sugar daddies。 Exactly the same。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was an incredible but difficult read to do。 Maddie was a really good character, and her son was such a brave and funny boy。 This book felt extremely realistic in its romance in some ways。 I found this to be a difficult read as I am someone who has endured an abusive relationship and reading about the abuse or the head space Maddie got into and how relationships deteriorate like that without noticing until its too late。 It brought back alot of my own memories。 But it's important dialogue tha This was an incredible but difficult read to do。 Maddie was a really good character, and her son was such a brave and funny boy。 This book felt extremely realistic in its romance in some ways。 I found this to be a difficult read as I am someone who has endured an abusive relationship and reading about the abuse or the head space Maddie got into and how relationships deteriorate like that without noticing until its too late。 It brought back alot of my own memories。 But it's important dialogue that needs to happen and I think it was handled brilliantly。I have so much appreciation for single parents and their struggle。 I was raised by a single mother and I feel like these are some are the strongest people in the world。 Maddie is a brilliant mother to her son and it showed in her relationship with her son。 I like that the happy ending was pregnancy and big weddings (although that's usually my favourite ending) but the happy ending was brilliant for this book。 Maddie's happy ending was that she could begin to live her life and enjoy it too。 。。。more

3。5 starsSuch a cute read! Madison worked so hard and did her best to give her son a happy life。 She went through a lot of heartbreak and trauma in her past relationships but everyone needs someone and Garrett was that someone。 Very grumpy and protective。 It reminded me of Wait For It by MZ

I really like this book! It was interesting seeing the character developments from the beginning to the end of the story。 It made me cry a lot。 I never realized how hard single moms have to work just to take care of their kids。 Maddie was an admirable character。 I loved her and her son。 I did feel that Garret needed to have more depth。 We know a few things about him but I really wished we could’ve learned more。 I didn’t like how he reacted sometimes to her trauma, but it made him feel more reali I really like this book! I know I read a lot of romance novels that aren’t based in reality at all。 Like monster romance or alien romance。 But this book drives me crazy on how unrealistic this set up is。 This is a single mom who got pregnant at 16 and apparently, although I haven’t gotten that information yet, is divorced and on her own。 She works for a minimum wage, which we all know is not a living wage。 She accepts no money from her parents。 And yet!At 25, she and her son are living in a three bedroom, two bathroom d I know I read a lot of romance novels that aren’t based in reality at all。 Like monster romance or alien romance。 But this book drives me crazy on how unrealistic this set up is。 This is a single mom who got pregnant at 16 and apparently, although I haven’t gotten that information yet, is divorced and on her own。 She works for a minimum wage, which we all know is not a living wage。 She accepts no money from her parents。 And yet!At 25, she and her son are living in a three bedroom, two bathroom duplex! And, she is sending her son to a private school! And she’s paying for both of these out of her minimum wage jobs? Plus, she is going to school and presumably paying for that as well! I know this wouldn’t get to everyone, but this kind of unrealistic set up gets to me so hard。 And her saying that having his own bathroom is what her son deserves。 At eight years old! I can’t even。I don’t know。 I’m just so irritated by this and can’t let it go。 Also, the hero is introduced and he’s 6’3” or 4”。 Ok。 No need to have any realism in this book at all。 Why am I so turned off by the set up? I don’t know。 But I’m DNFing at 9%。 。。。more

Well, that was a great read! I really enjoyed reading this book。 I would've have finished it quicker if I didn't have a busy week because really, I didn't want to stop reading if I had a choice。 The beginning was pretty slow and Garrett and Madison started out on the wrong foot mainly because of Garrett's grumpy ass。 I was irritated with him at first, but when preconceived judgments had been set aside and they have finally reached an understanding between them, he turned immediately into a favor Well, that was a great read! I just wish I've seen more of their future in the end。 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 (4。5)Steam Level: 🔥🔥🔥。5 。。。more

Rating: 3。5 This was so frikin good! I could not put this book down。 I seriously loved Maddie and Jamie, her sons, relationship。 Maddie deserves the world after what shes been though I seriously wanted to give her a big hug and tell her everything is gonna be alright。 Now I have to say Garett was such an ass in the beginning but we understand soon as to why he acts the way he is。 What I didn’t like about it is how Maddie was the one to approach him after he insulted her。 She was the one who told Rating: 3。5 This was so frikin good! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review and WOW。 I absolutely loved this book。 There is a minor DV plot point that may be a trigger for some, but I felt it was relatively minor and was handled well。 The tension between the main characters is IMPECCABLE, and made the slow burn totally worth it for the incredible payoff at the end。 Definitely recommending this book to all of my friends and will be reading everything the author publishing now。

I have to leave a review for this book。 As someone who got pregnant at 15, had my sperm donor walk out on me, got into a relationship with someone who abused me, and eventually found my way to my now husband who’s since adopted my oldest and given me another son, this spoke to my heart in so many ways。 I was in tears so many times because I remember the pain I felt every day going to college and working full time, worried I was missing out on so much with him。 This story was me in a way。 I read I have to leave a review for this book。 As someone who got pregnant at 15, had my sperm donor walk out on me, got into a relationship with someone who abused me, and eventually found my way to my now husband who’s since adopted my oldest and given me another son, this spoke to my heart in so many ways。 I was in tears so many times because I remember the pain I felt every day going to college and working full time, worried I was missing out on so much with him。 This story was me in a way。 I read the preface of this book too which also had me in tears。 This book was raw, it was unfiltered, it hit on every rough topic of being a single mom and going through leaving an abusive relationship。 The writing is beautifully done, and Lilian T。 James is now on my list of favorite authors after reading Untainted and falling in love with it too。 72839497/10 stars, I can’t wait to read more of her work。 。。。more

I DEVOURED this book! I’m not too big on contemporary romance novels but I loved Lilian’s writing in her first book Untainted。 I knew I would give this one a shot simply because she was the one writing it。 Madison was so relatable as a character and I found myself rooting for her。 I can’t wait for the next read!

The emotional turmoil I had to put this book down was excruciating。 But, bills had to be paid, work had to happen。 I literally devoured this book。 The plot is amazing, the tension and best of all the ending - superb。 Not just a mindless read, but a storyline that gets you hooked that you have to know what’s going to happen next。 Also, an amazing look at the life of a young mother - and single mother trying to make ends meet at that。 10/10 recommend。PS - anytime a classic car, in this case a Chev The emotional turmoil I had to put this book down was excruciating。 But, bills had to be paid, work had to happen。 I literally devoured this book。 The plot is amazing, the tension and best of all the ending - superb。 Not just a mindless read, but a storyline that gets you hooked that you have to know what’s going to happen next。 Also, an amazing look at the life of a young mother - and single mother trying to make ends meet at that。 10/10 recommend。PS - anytime a classic car, in this case a Chevy Nova, is mentioned, your girl swoons hard for that character。 And the scene from the Nova? 🔥🔥 。。。more

I absolutely loved this book。 It had me grinning from ear to ear。 It’s just precious and so realistic。 As a child of a mom who went from a horrible relationship at a young age to who is now with my super protective dad who I love dearly, I saw it from a different perspective than most。 Madison is a darn good mom。 As a Madison myself I say she’s pretty awesome 😉 definitely worth the read。

I could not put this book down! I absolutely loved every minute of it。 Meet Me Halfway focuses on Madison, a single-mom doing the best to care for her son, and Garrett, her grumpy, yet protective neighbor (well once he realizes that Madison works extremely hard)。 This book showed that it's not sunshine and roses being a single parent, even with help from close friends and family, and I appreciated that。 It showed the real side to working three jobs, being in school and trying to watch your kid's I could not put this book down! Heart wrenching in the best wayI was able to relate to Madison in so many ways。 This story is so emotional and real that I found myself needing to step away every few chapters because it hit so close to home。 MMH is a super slowburn but once the fire is lit…。 Oof 😍Madison is an absolute bada** woman and mom。 Jamie is the sweetest boy ever。 Garrett is…well you’ll see。 I wish I could get this in paperback so that I could have a copy of my own。
